Been far too long since Iv'e done one of these! I just got home from the best PAX ever. Crypt of the Necrodancer showed super well and we had such a crazy time there showing it to everyone. Hey Guys!

So my Shellrazer game www.slickentertainment.com/cat… is soooo close to being ready! And I wanted to be kind of a jerk and ask all my artist pals if they'd help me spread the word by doing up some shellrazer related art! It wont be in vain! we could call it a sketch trade or something to that effect. I'll also digitally knight you as an honorary Drawbarian! how cool is that!?

I'll be posting one of them every friday (If I even get any) here on this Tumblr! fanrazer.tumblr.com/ you can also check out the monday morning Shellrazer Scounrels on this one! jouste.tumblr.com/ I am slowly drawing every enemy that's in Shellrazer in a neat polaroid format.

So anyway, a few awesome people here have done up some great artwork for me for shellrazer! here's :iconstephen-0akley: with an awesome and dangerous looking turtle! sopossum.deviantart.com/art/Sh… . And Here's :iconvanripper: who gave our turtle a stupendous pile of hats! fav.me/d53npyw

If you'd like I could sweeten the deal by drawing one of your own characters as a trade! just like i did with :iconvanripper: here fav.me/d54kt2e if you don't want/like my stuff then that's fine too! You could join in the fun of drawing turtles with guns on them just for the heck of it! I'll be sure to let everyone know who made the artwork and link people to their stuff as well. If anybody is interested just send me a note! I'll try to do this as often as I can right up to and beyond the release of the game, time permitting.

    Thanks a ton guys!

Hey all! I rarely write these things but I had a ton of fun last weekend building a game in 48 hours!

It was super fun and we had a great team of 3 guys.
Nick Waanders (Code), Kevin Regamey (Sound), and me for the art.

the voices (all awesome) were:
Stephanie Komure, Colin Regamey, and Joshua Matumona.

and the sweet music was done by:
Riley Koenig

The theme was "Alternate Universes" So we made a game about an ogre that has to exterminate the horde of princesses in a castle.

It's caled "Princess, Die" and here's a video of it!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqDJdm…

and here's some stills!
imgur.com/a/0YYaX

48 hours isn't a lot of time so you really need to just get as much done as you can as fast as you can. I learned a ton of stuff that will help make our next platformer super cool! thanks for checking it out guys!

Hey everyone!

So I've been super busy lately but for good reason! I just got hired on by Slick Entertainment (the guys responsible for N+ on the Xbox and Scrap Metal) and am doing all the art for a new IOS game! It really is the greatest job I've ever gotten, I'll be posting up all the art here but I've also been posting a Dev Blog weekly on all the progress! Check them all out here!

www.slickentertainment.com/cat…

It's a great game where you are a giant turtle with cannon's on your back that you can customize as you explode your way thorough a whole pile of levels! There will be a lot more stuff coming and I wanted to thank everyone for following my stuff and there will be a lot more coming. stay cool everyone!

:iconblasterkid: came up with the big idea and i got on it from :iconwadefurlong: who is a total champ and actually helped me get my one and only daily deviation!

Here are the RULES from his journal:
----------
First and most importantly...you MUST HAVE A PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP ACCOUNT to participate. You can't post art, and thumbnails in your journal without one. But beyond that: Be one of the first 18 people commenting on this journal entry, and I will add you to the "Featured Artist Spotlight List" in this journal/ For each of the 18 first people answering this journal I will put his/her avatar and the three deviations from his/her gallery on the list that I find appealing and think represent your work well and might bring some new friends your way. IMPORTANT: If you are featured you'll have to do the same in your journal, putting me on the list in the first place slot, and then completing the list with 17 other people who reply to you. The idea of this is not to get a free features, it is to spread art around for everyone.
----------

So if you want some of your art to get out there to the 4 people that follow me, post in the comment selection below! and remember you have to have a premium membership. I'll even throw in a blurb about you! oh boy!

1) :iconwadefurlong:

Is an artist whose works leave a twisted spike in the viewer's head. The constantly torqued anatomy makes one reel with confusion and a dark familiarity that is akin to a contemporary Dali with a gnarled love for the Marvel U. Viewing his work is like taking a trip you may not have wanted to take, but ended up enjoying the final destination anyways.

Pendulous Vigor by WadeFurlong SpiderLegs with Steamed Greens by WadeFurlong MODOK 2 by WadeFurlong

2) :iconprojectendo:

Keeps a consistently clean handle on his crisp characters. Its always enjoyable to see someone with some strong sketches as well as renderings so sharp they cut your eyeballs in a good way. Looking forward to more of his personal work even though I've been a fan of his gift stuff and sequential work as well.

Amoset Bio by ProjectENDO Gift Art: Hitch by ProjectENDO Motion and Time by ProjectENDO

3) :iconbenbasso:

Has a real Risso kind of look that he uses on creatures so memorable you could swear that they were ripped right form your childhood. Amazing poses and striking use of color and poster work fill his gallery, taking the viewer to someplace in between a carnival freak show to somewhere under your covers where dreams and nightmares happily bury the hatchet and create something incredible.

Baltazar.page06 by BenBASSO from my journal 2 by BenBASSO 026 by BenBASSO

4) :iconskeware:

Keeps things light and fun with a good choice of colors and easy to read characters. A solid approach to simplistic design in a world that's getting pretty complicated. He tends to warp around similar themes and the comfort he has there carries through in his artwork.

Pink Dragon Cubs by Skeware Attaaaaaaack by Skeware Whimsical Zombie by Skeware

5) :iconmannixfrancisco:

Is keeping things classic with statuesque poses and Heavy Metal vibes in his comic penciling. Although a tad stiff there's a very devoted sense of detail that comes through in every image of his. The potential for violence is apparent in all of his characters and the viewer can't wait to see them cause some damage.

7):iconpopstck:

keeps things vibrant and furry, here's another young buck ready to make their warm and fuzzy mark on the art world! My critique on the anthropomorphic is sketchy at best but they are bright and fun to look at!

explodes outward with some awesome style and creative decisions. His sense of scale is super and colors stay strong but never overpower the composition. Some real amazing stuff!

Alright! time for some journal!

so i started a daily sketch blog that features a drawing every day! (except on saturdays).

jouste.blogspot.com/

I made it through the first week of quick sketches and I figure that i can keep up the pace as long as the pictures stay fast and silly!

I decided to tackle League of Legends characters because I'm a fan of the game and there's just so gosh darn many of the things. I have a feeling that I'll keep doing them until i run out of them or a few people beg me to stop.

I also do a quick write up with every post talking a bit about the game and design in general. I love hearing from everybody so be sure to check it out and drop me a line.

also i do a webcomic (the schedule is quite fragmented so i have no idea when it comes out) that's based off of league of legends as well. there's only been 5 issues but I'm learning a bunch and using it to figure out my own attempt at web comics.

Thanks for all the comments everybody!

and let's not forget another pal of mine. it's james o'hare! jame's picked a character that i've had a soft spot for and that's lou garoux the space-werewolf! jouste.deviantart.com/art/lou-… the really cool thing about this model is that he textured it with a toon shader and made it look like my style of coloring! D: very awesome pal. thanks so much! www.farfarer.com/portfolio/lou…

and in other news those cool cats at newgrounds made the red baron into a poster for reals! here's the full shot: jouste.deviantart.com/art/the-… and take a quick hop over to newgrounds to see it all mounted cool in some dude's office! www.newgrounds.com/store/produ…

hey all, so it looks like i got a daily deviation! a big thanks to :iconalltheoriginalnames: for suggesting and :iconaunjuli: for featuring and another huge thanks to :iconwadefurlong: for the mad assis and exposure.

i really wanted to post a little bit earlier but i've been a little overwhelmed and i wanted to at least be able to post another dude before doing one of these journal things. so basically i have a lot of new awesome people to thank for faving the behemoth print and watching my goofy scribbles. you all rule and i hope to be hearing from you real soon! i'm going to try and make it a point to reply to everyone who dropped me a line so real sorry if i get back to you super late.

anyways i have rambled for far too long! thanks again people, i'm really flattered and will keep up the drawing action.

later pals.
